I wasn’t able to be at the rally but we heard all about Saturday evening at the SAAPAC movie night from Larry and Diane Stallings, Al Kaufman, Loretta Van Coppenolle and Barbara Moschner who were there.

It is so heartwarming to see the left and right united for the betterment of our country. We both want a strong democracy that is open to the people and controlled by the voters not small groups of special interests with money to throw around in secret meetings on yachts.

I strongly concur with Madeleine Dewar’s comments.
I normally do not find myself attending a rally where both democrats and republicans are present. But I believe that regardless of one’s political affiliation, a Texan is certainly smart enough to recognize a situation where the government is trying to impose its will against the majority of the people.
Having had an opportunity to speak with hundreds of fellow citizens over the past year, I can certainly attest to the fact that 9 of 10 folks adamantly oppose toll roads.

So the big question is: “Why do our elected officials continue with a plan that they clearly understand is opposed by the general public?”. Could it be that they believe that the people will get used to the idea of toll roads everywhere and simply let them get away with it??? Hopefully, rallys like this one will send a clear signal that the people of this area and across Texas will not let them get away with this one!!
